XRF Applications Specialist

Austin AI, Inc., a rapidly expanding Austin, TX manufacturer of analytical instrumentation, is seeking an experienced XRF Applications Specialist who will directly and indirectly support Austin AI’s sales and marketing efforts.  He or she will assist in the identification of customer needs, develop technical solutions for customer needs, and provide technical training.

Responsibilities include:

• Operation and maintenance of XRF instrumentation
• Generate customer “proof” statements – plan and execute experiments, collect and analyze data, document experiment results, report results to appropriate personnel and customers
• Provide XRF product demonstrations for prospective customers
• Educate and train customers in order to increase effective product use and customer satisfaction
• Provide training and education to field sales force to better identify customer needs, sales and closing opportunities
• Work with marketing and field sales to target customers and generate leads
• Some travel to customer sites, tradeshows, conference, etc.

Education/Experience Requirements

• 4 year BS/BA in Chemistry, Physics or Biology
• Prior laboratory experience, experienced with XRF and/or other spectroscopy techniques desirable
• Proficiency with common word-processing, spreadsheet and database software
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical concepts to all levels
• Exceptional customer service skilsl
